My Visit to Three Stores: In Los Angeles, London, and Lafayette

Hello! My name is Amina. I am learning how to write in English. Today, I want to write about three stores I visited. One store is in Los Angeles, one is in London (United Kingdom), and one is in Lafayette, Louisiana. I like shopping and looking at new things, so I want to tell you about my experience.

1. Store in Los Angeles, California, USA

Los Angeles is a big city. There are many stores. I went to a store called Urban Jungle. This store is very cool. It is not a big store, but it has many nice clothes. The store sells streetwear, like jackets, jeans, and sneakers. I saw shirts with fun colors. One shirt had a big tiger on it. I liked it, but it was expensive. It cost $65. I did not buy it.

The people in the store were kind. One worker helped me find a hoodie. He smiled and said, “Do you need help?” I said, “Yes, thank you. I want a hoodie.” He showed me one hoodie. It was soft and black. I tried it on and it fit! I bought it. It cost $40.

The music in the store was loud. It played hip-hop. I liked it. It made me feel like dancing. The walls had art. One wall had graffiti art with a big word: “Los Angeles.”

2. Store in London, United Kingdom

London is also a big city. It is different from Los Angeles. It is colder and older. The store I went to in London is called Tea & Tales. It is a book and tea shop. It is small and quiet. I liked it a lot.

Inside the store, there were books on shelves. Many books were about British stories. There were books by authors like Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. I bought a small book of poems. It cost £5.50.

In the back of the store, there is a tea area. You can sit and drink tea. I ordered one cup of Earl Grey tea and a small cake. The cake was lemon cake. It was sweet and soft. The tea was hot and smelled nice. I sat by the window. It was raining outside. I read my book and felt happy.

The owner of the store is an old lady. She wore glasses and a blue sweater. She asked me, “Are you enjoying your book?” I said, “Yes, it is very good.” She smiled.

3. Store in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA

Lafayette is a smaller city than Los Angeles or London. It is in the southern part of the United States. People there speak English, but some also speak French or Cajun French.

The store I visited in Lafayette is called Bayou Treasures. It sells local crafts and music. It is a fun place. When I entered, I saw many colorful things. There were handmade baskets, jewelry, candles, and T-shirts with “Lafayette” on them.

There was also Zydeco music playing. It is music with accordions and washboards. The sound is happy and fast. A man was playing music in the corner. People clapped their hands.

I bought a small candle. It smelled like vanilla and cinnamon. It was made by hand. The lady at the counter said, “This candle is made here in Lafayette.” I said, “Thank you!” and paid $12.

I also ate a beignet outside the store. A beignet is a sweet fried dough with sugar. It was warm and tasty. My fingers got sticky!

What I Learned

I liked all three stores. They are different, but they all have something special.

In Los Angeles, the store was modern and stylish. It was loud and fun.
In London, the store was quiet and classic. It felt peaceful.
In Lafayette, the store was local and warm. It had music and culture.

I learned that stores are not just places to buy things. They show the heart of a city. People, music, food, and things—they all tell a story.
